Set in the west of Ireland, The Beauty Queen of Leenane is a twisted and comic tale of Maureen, a middle-aged spinster, who lives with her elderly and manipulative mother Mag.  Maureen lives a lonely life, longing for romance that will spirit her away.  When a chance comes along to find love and make a new life for herself, Maureen sees an opportunity to escape.  However, Mag has other ideas and sets in motion a chain of betrayals which bring the play to a terrifying conclusion.
