Ground Zero Dance presented ASSEMBLAGE, new and re-staged works in two programs, by company choreographers Rob Petres and Kathleen Legault, artistic associates Victoria Fink and Tommy Parlon, and guests Karl Anderson/SLAMFEST and VON HOWARD PROJECT. Now in its twelfth year, GZD has a history of bringing artists together, sharing the work of company members as well as peers from around and beyond Virginia. ASSEMBLAGE showcased improvisational work by Brooklyn-based Karl Anderson/SLAMFEST; new and recent works by Christian von Howard/VON HOWARD PROJECT including Light, his take on the physics of light; new works by artistic associates Victoria Fink and Tommy Parlon; and a re-staging of Rob Petres and Kathleen Legault's haunting Poor Edward, set on a new cast, performed at Dogtown Dance Theatre for the first time.
